Penrose Dock located on Penrose Quay in Cork City was developed by JCD to provide next generation office capacity to meet the demands of a growing city.

Main Contractor PJ Hegarty secured the contract to construct the landmark building. Approved IKO Systems Installer MS Roofing were selected as roofing contractors.

The IKO Permaphalt Waterproofing System was approved for the roof following technical analysis and research by the highly respected Wilson Architecture.

The IKO Carrara cap sheet incorporating ‘Cool Roof and Air purification technology’ was selected to assist in achieving the target of minimum Gold LEED standard.
IKOpro bitumen primer was applied to the concrete deck with IKO Sealbase fully torch bonded.

Xtratherm 130mm MG PIR insulation was mechanically fixed. A layer of glass tissue and black sheathing felt were then applied. Two 10mm coats of IKO Permaphalt polymer modified mastic asphalt provided the waterproofing layer.

IKO Carrara cap sheet was fully torch bonded to protect the asphalt.
