Project Description
Studio Alt Shift’s and Andrew Haythornthwaite were approached by Mothership Group – owner of Patterns, with a vision for a space that was hardworking, thought provoking and totally dedicated to enjoying music, sunshine and dancing, all housed in a seafront art deco building and terrace.
The project required replacing the 200m² floor with a hard wearing surface – a ground asphalt surface was the decision taken for the project; a challenging material to bring into an interior environment.
Solution and Installation
The Pattern’s floor was a major feature of the space, it needed variation and texture, be easy to clean and, if damaged, inexpensive to repair.
IKO Terrazzo Flooring was a perfect choice for the nightclub’s floor, due to it’s hard-wearing and seamless material, also offering moisture resistance.
IKO Terrazzo gave that individual elegance required, as no two installations are the same. Studio Alt Shift also designed and developed a bespoke table range using the IKO Terrazzo (usually used for floor and wall treatments)
showing it’s versatility.
